Dear Co-Laborers in the Lord,
Greetings from East Africa in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We trust and pray that you are well in the Lord. With thanksgiving, we share with you the latest news from the field.
1. Bible College of East Africa (BCEA-Kenya) had its 54th Graduation service on November 22.
We praise God for 14 graduates who completed their studies. This was among the smallest graduating class in recent years. We thank God for their perseverance in finishing this step of preparation for ministry. Praise God for gifts of study Bibles (given every year by Young Kwang Bible Presbyterian Church) and commentaries that were given to the graduates. We trust that these will serve as helpful tools for their ministries as they continue their lifelong study of the Word.
Please join us in prayer for each of them, that they may “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Tim. 4:2). May they be used as wondrous instruments for the saving of the lost as God continues His work in East Africa among His people.
2. Preparations are underway for International Covenant College (Rwanda) to open on January 11.
We praise God that the College has received authorization from the government to begin offering programs at the higher education level. God willing, the plan is to train kindergarten teachers and media workers through the two programs permitted by the authorities (Early Childhood Development and Digital Media Technology). The College has received a significant number of applications for enrollment, and more continue to be added.
Much prayer is needed for this ministry. We pray that the Lord will lead the right administrators, lecturers, and students to the College, and that the ministry will be used to serve His people during these challenging times. We continue our efforts to comply with government regulations and standards. An online management information system (MIS) has been installed, and construction is underway for a small media studio. The rainy season poses many difficulties for construction, and we pray and hope that the Lord will be with each step of the process until completion.
The ministry continues by God’s grace through your prayers. Although the challenges are real and substantial, His grace is sufficient for us. We trust that He who has been with us up to now will continue to be with us as we proceed. We ask for your continued prayers.
In the bond of Christ,
Kyung Soo (Mark) Kim and Hang Sook (Hannah) Rhee
