March, 2025
Dear Brethren in Christ,
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:3-6). How wonderful it is to know that our God, with great patience towards us, is continuously working on us to know Him more and perfecting His blood bought people for that great glorious day of our glorification. What a marvelous day that will be when we see Him face to face!
How time flies! It is time, once again, to give you a report of what the Lord has us doing in Guatemala. We are grateful to God for giving us the health to continue serving in His vineyard.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOLS
We thank the Lord for the Vacation Bible Schools that were held the first two weeks of December 2025 in the Montserrat and Los Angeles churches. We had over a hundred children and young people attending both churches, which was down from previous years. They heard the Word of God, and we trust that some souls will be saved in the future. I counseled the older children individually for approximately ten minutes each. Several brothers and sisters from the churches, along with Geneva, Anna and Sarah Durand (from US and Chile), helped with the Bible teaching; we thank God for their lives and their service for His kingdom.
We pray that we can continue to reach out to the children, visiting with them and sharing more about God and His purpose in their lives, and giving them other literature to reinforce the gospel of grace. Pray that God will do His work in them.
MONTSERRAT AND LOS ANGELES BP CHURCHES
We praise the Lord that both churches are growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. On Christmas Eve we celebrated the Christmas program with our brothers and sisters and friends who attended the service at Montserrat, and the Los Angeles program the following Sunday. There was scripture reading, several presentations with poems, musical numbers and songs that glorify our God.
Before the year ended, we held a year-end special service in which we thanked God for all His blessings and protection in 2025, and we prayed for 2026, asking that God continue to guide our lives, strengthen us, and help us continue the work of evangelism and good works for His honor and glory. Please help us in prayer for those new attendees who will be taking membership classes in March and April in preparation to join Montserrat church.
BIBLICAL CALENDAR DISTRIBUTION
Praise be to God for the members of our churches in Montserrat, Los Angeles, and Chimaltenango, as well as some of the CIEF churches, who distributed to their church families, friends, neighbors and co-workers, 1,000 full-color calendars with one large verse of scripture for
every month, and 5,000 “Golden Thoughts” black and white calendars featuring a Bible verse for every day. These calendars were distributed in various ways, including on the streets and through door-to-door visits in the neighborhoods surrounding the churches. Let us pray that God would bless the hearts of those who distributed them and those who received His holy word in the calendars and that they might be saved by grace through faith.
CIEF GUATEMALA
Due to the cold weather in January and February, several pastors are experiencing health problems, and the Executive Committee could not meet; please pray for them. Also, please pray for the plans to hold two annual Bible conferences this year, and pray that they will also continue to defend the faith and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
HALS’ HEALTH
Please pray for my health as I have fluid retention in my feet, which causes swelling and makes walking difficult. I have been experiencing some temporary relief with natural medication. Lord willing, we will travel to Florida April 7 for some scheduled doctor’s visits at the Veterans Hospital, and will return April 26.
TRINITARIAN BIBLE SOCIETY AND BOOKSTORE
Concerning the Trinitarian Bible Society and bookstore of Guatemala, I ask for prayer. The financial resources needed for its operation rose on January1st. Pray that God will send new customers and that old customers will continue visiting so that the sales will help us keep afloat. We continue to look for God’s leading to raise some monthly supports to help keep this ministry in operation. Would God lead you to help us? If so, please send in your gift marked TBS Guatemala.
In closing, may I say that we are grateful to God and to you, for your faithfulness in praying and supporting us and this Guatemalan Ministry. May our Lord richly bless you for your sacrifice and labor of love.
Yours in Christ and for Biblical Missions,
Hal, Stephen, Juanita, Samuel and Joshua
