Dear Co-Laborers in the Lord,
Greetings from Africa in the great and precious Name of our Lord. Our ministry in East Africa presses on, and we remain indebted to your prayer and love. With thanksgiving, we share the things which God has done.
1. Bible College of East Africa (Rwanda) (BCEA-RW) recently held a dedication and thanksgiving service on 11 June for the completion of the Multi-Media Center and main Administration Block (pictured above). Again, these were requirements given to us for accreditation by the Higher Education Council (HEC-Rwanda). We praise God for His provision, and we thank Him that we were able to celebrate this completion with some of those who gave sacrificially for these projects. Also present at the service were Rwandese local government officials, the Korean ambassador to Rwanda, and our church members. About a thousand people were in attendance to give glory to God and to praise Him for what He has done (photos below). We ask for your prayers, that in the near future, the College doors will open and that many, who are called for gospel ministry, will be trained through the College for the precious work of proclaiming the message of salvation.
2. The campus Church of BCEA-RW, which is Kigali Bible Presbyterian Church (KBPC), continues to grow in the grace of our Lord. Each Sunday, the sanctuary is full of villagers, and we marvel at the plentiful harvest unlike anything we have ever witnessed. Over two services (8:00am and 11:00am), a steady number of 900-1000 adults gather to worship and to hear the Word. In recent months, I have presented an explicit offer of the gospel after each sermon, and we praise God for the public acceptance of Jesus as Savior each week. This is solely the marvelous work of God, who initiates and completes His work of salvation. Sunday School is also held over two services due to limited seating capacity. At 11:00am, there is a separate service for teenagers (ages 12-17), and at 2:00pm, ages 6-11 gather for a sermon, songs of praise, and learning of memory verses. We estimate that nearly 2,000
filled with the Word, grow in faith, and become soldiers of Christ, used as precious instruments in this evil age. We ask you to join us in prayer for the campus churches of all three BCEA campuses (Nairobi, Arusha, and Kigali). May these ministries be used as channels of blessing and arks of salvation. May the souls who come forward in faith live as conquerors.
3. Your prayers are needed. We are grateful for your prayer and sacrificial support even as the pandemic and the war in Ukraine continues to affect all of our lives. We pray and trust that you will be more than conquerors in all things through the strength He gives. Thank you.
In the bond of Christ,
Kyung Soo (Mark) Kim and Hang Sook (Hannah) Rhee
