Iran is one of only six countries around the world with an officially theocratic, or religious, government. As a result, the Islam permeates nearly every corner of politics and society. Under Sharia law, the religious rulebook of Islam that dictates everything from personal conduct to family life to business matters, converting from Islam to Christianity is an offense punishable by death. Yet, in small groups, Iranian Christians continue to meet and practice their faith in secret. Pray for these brethren.
