April, 2025
Dear prayer partners,
When we decide to do something or want to do something, we have a reason for doing it. We need to understand why we do it in order to act. Why are we following Jesus? April seems to be the month that gives us the answer to this question. The journey of our Christian life starts from the moment we understand the relationship between Jesus’ first coming to this earth, His teachings, His death on the cross, and His resurrection, and our lives. We praise our Lord Jesus Christ because now we know why He came to us.
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:17)
The English Bible Reading Class is offered for public middle school students, and technical high school students and teachers, including scholarship students. The Tres de Junio Middle School class is conducted for first-grade students by memorizing basic English words centered on short Bible verses. Most public-school students have a much weaker aptitude and concentration when compared to private- school students. Even among students in the same Patzicia region, the difference between private school students and public school students is significant. Most Tres de Junio public school students are economically poor and their home environments are unstable. More than half of the students are from single-parent homes or are orphans, making it difficult for them to receive any kind of proper support at home. Due to these circumstances, most children are forced to work rather than go to school, and many come to school because they hate working more than studying. Because of this, the children’s confusion and wariness in their first class, with an unfamiliar teacher, makes it very hard to conduct the class.
Now, after two months, the children have become so friendly that they approach Caleb to ask to play soccer after class. It is still difficult to conduct English classes with them, but pray that there will be times when even one Bible verse can be engraved in their hearts. Even in this environment, there are students who are eager to learn English. We plan to hold a Saturday English Bible class for these students. Please pray that the Bible verses shared with students, who want to participate, will bring change to their lives. Although we do not know the circumstances of each of the Tres de Junio students, pray that God’s love and the salvation of Jesus Christ may come to these students and, through them, to their families.
The Scholarship Class is held on Saturday mornings due to the student’s weekday classes and part-time jobs. Chumil, who entered the National University of San Carlos, had to take a semester off due to family circumstances. Since it was impossible for her to attend school from her remarried-father’s house in the city, she moved to a course where she would live with her mother in Patzicia and commute to school on weekends for the next semester. Pray for Chumil, that she will not give up her studies due to family conditions. Darlyn is also working due to financial difficulties and preparing for college. She is a Roman Catholic. She is faithful attending classes despite the many new Bible verses she is encountering. Please pray that the guidance of the Holy Spirit, through the Word, may lead her to the realization of her salvation.
Please continue to pray for the Christian School Project. The biggest prayer topic is praying for the location. The rent and purchase prices are increasing. This makes it almost impossible to carry on this project, but we will not give up yet, and we are continuously searching and investigating. We believe that God will grant us rain that will quench our thirst, even if it is only from a tiny dot of cloud, not even a piece of cloud that we see now. Pray for God’s provision.

If you would, pray for our son Joshua. He is at an important time where he has to make many decisions. Please pray for God’s wisdom and guidance for him to make right choices. Also, pray especially for his skin troubles caused by dryness and chemicals, that it will be completely healed.
Finally, pray for God’s protection, as He always watches over us on the road and in all new encounters. We also pray that God’s companionship and blessings will be with you, our beloved coworkers, in your home and daily life.
“…for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever though goest…” (Joshua 1:9)
In His endless love,
