Presenting Christ to Cambodia

October, 2025

Dear Prayer and Mission Co-Workers,

For approximately two months, our teachers prepared and prayed together for the Vacation Bible School at both the Gospel and Living Water churches. As we prayed, God blessed the weather (because this is during the rainy season) allowing many children to attend without difficulty. The children from the village, who were on vacation, attended in greater numbers than expected, allowing us to share God’s Word, sing praises to the Lord, and have a joyful time.

On the first day of the Gospel Church VBS, 191 children and five adults attended. And on the second day, 289 children and eight adults attended! Then, on the first day of the Living Water VBS, 41 children and five adults attended. And on the second day, 55 children and seven adults attended.

We are so grateful and do rejoice in God’s great grace, which led us to a beautiful completion of these VBS programs held over the past two weeks.

The theme of the VBS was, “I am a Child of Light,” and the Bible passages we used were John 8:12 and Ephesians 5:8. For three days (Sept. 5-7) at the Gospel Church, and for three days (Sept. 12-14) at the Living Water Church, we shared the Word of God with many young souls, held in beautiful weather, joyfully praising God, and even sharing abundant snacks and gifts each day.

The teachers worked hard and served with unity. Miss Siev Chien BAN led this VBS with the greatest effort. Although our resources were limited and the forecast called for clouds and a rainy day, our God, by His power, held the weather in check, allowing us to abundantly share with so many children. Although we did not have a mission team come to help this time, He provided sufficient funds, allowing us to finish the VBS by His grace. We believe that He taught us the importance of earnestly praying for the salvation of young souls and sharing the gospel with them.

Even though the children who rejoiced in the Word during VBS may not attend Sunday services in large numbers, the VBS ministry, for these children, must continue every year.

To encourage the teachers who ministered with us in both joy and sorrow, along with the deacons who worked hard preparing meals, we went to the beach on September 15th and enjoyed a seafood meal together. That day, the Lord held back the clouds and rain again, and we were filled with joy and gratitude for the clear weather. And yet, the next day the torrential rains poured down!

Finally, on September 18th, five or six teachers went out to a village near the entrance of the Living Water Church to evangelize those children. We offered what little we had, our time and hearts, to the Lord and shared the gift of the gospel with the children.

Brethren, thank you for allowing us to share this blessing with you. We sincerely pray for the Lord’s sustaining grace to be upon all those who prayed and gave.

In Christ,
Stephen and Lydia CHOI
