“Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.”
Psalm 147:1
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray that each of you is enjoying the abundant blessings and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.
Our Daughters’ Graduation
We would like to share how grateful we are to the Lord for giving us the opportunity to travel to the United States (Pensacola, Florida) to be with our beloved daughters and participate in their graduation ceremonies. God has been wonderfully good and gracious to our family, allowing our daughters to receive their education in this beautiful country and, most importantly, at a Christian university. On May 8, Melissa and Ruth Jara completed another important stage of their lives, and we rejoice in God’s faithfulness toward them.
The Passing of Janeth’s Mother
While we were here in the United States, Janeth, received the sad news that her mother, Eulogia, passed away on May 10. We thank God for comforting our hearts during this difficult time. She was a godly woman with a beautiful testimony of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Widowed at a young age with eight children, she faithfully raised her family and left behind a legacy of unwavering faith in the Lord. Although Janeth was unable to attend the funeral, God has sustained and strengthened her through this season of sorrow.
Youth Congress
Our Lord is also to be thanked for the beautiful Youth Congress (pictured above) held for the Northern District of Chile, under the leadership of Brother Gonzalo Pantoja, president, and Brother Francisco Pantoja, secretary. The event took place at Iglesia Manantial, and it was a great blessing to see so many young people consecrated to the Lord and actively serving in His work. On Sunday, May 24, we were also blessed by visits from brethren from the church in Vallenar, Chile and during our Sunday School service, Brother Pablo Carreño from Church Smyrna in Santiago, ministered the Word alongside his wife and children.
Catechumen Class
Back in March, our Berea Church began a catechumen class for new believers and future members. We are pleased to share that ten students are currently participating and preparing to become active members who will support and serve in the work of the Lord. They are being instructed in the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith, and we trust that God will raise up future leaders among them for the edification of His church. The course will conclude in October. We kindly ask for your prayers that the Lord will continue to strengthen their desire to learn His Word and serve Him faithfully.
Prayer Requests
- For Jonathan’s health. While in Houston, Texas, staying with his sister, Ruth Frock, doctors discovered spots on his nose that were diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma. He will return on June 10 for further surgery to remove the remaining cancer cells.
- For Jonathan’s sister, Ruth, and her husband, David Frock, as both are experiencing vision problems.
- For the catechumen class at Berea Church, that the Lord would continue working in the lives of the students.
- For our daughters, Ruth Meyli and Melissa, that God would guide their steps and protect them in the important decisions ahead.
- For God’s blessing, protection, and guidance over the Children’s Day celebration and all the children who will participate.
May God richly bless your church. We sincerely thank you for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and financial support for the work of the Lord.
Your brothers and sisters in Christ,Rev. Jonathan, Janeth, Ruth Meylí, and Melissa Jara“
