Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We greet you in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying that you and your loved ones are well and enjoying the many blessings of the Lord. And so, from the depths of our hearts, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to each of you for your faithful support through your prayers and financial assistance. May the Lord richly reward you for your kindness and generosity.
Sunday School
Recently we have noticed that fewer children are attending Sunday School when compared to previous years. With this in mind, we planned two special activities to celebrate Children’s Day. On Saturday, August 15, we held an afternoon of games, activities, and Bible stories, with the desire to reach other children for Christ. Then, on Sunday, August 16, we had a special Sunday School service celebrating Children’s Day, with the help and participation of the young people and youth of our church. It was a beautiful time, and we trust the Lord will continue to keep these children faithful to Him.
Women’s Conference
The Lord is to be thanked for the Women’s Conference held on Friday, September 4, at Manantial Church here in Arica. For the first time, our sister Digna Lopez had the privilege of sharing a message from God’s Word. Eleven sisters from our church were able to attend, and it was a wonderful time of fellowship, encouragement, and joy in the Lord.
Berea Church
On Sunday, September 13, following our Sunday School, we celebrated Chile’s Independence Day, as is our custom and tradition. We enjoyed delicious empanadas and a joyful time of fellowship. Above all, we gave thanks to God for the freedom we have in Chile to worship and serve the Lord without hindrance. We praise the Lord because He is good!
We are also very thankful for our dear little Lisveth Arce, a nine-year-old girl who has been very faithful in attending Sunday School. She has expressed a desire to learn to play the violin so that she may use her gift to glorify God. Janeth gave her a violin, and she has now been taking lessons for three months. She is progressing quickly, and we are very thankful for her desire to serve the Lord. Please pray for Lisveth as she continues learning and growing in this gift.
We are also very thankful that three young men from our church (Gonzalo Pantoja, Francisco Pantoja, and Roberto Aguirre) were able to attend a youth conference in the city of Concepción during the Independence Day celebrations. These young men are leaders in our church, and we thank God for their lives and their faithful testimony.
Special Request
There is also an urgent need to have a reliable vehicle again for the ministry. For approximately 16 years, the van used to transport church members, children, and families to worship services, Bible studies, and evangelistic activities has been a great blessing. However, because of its age and ongoing mechanical problems, it is now in poor condition, and continuing to repair it is no longer a practical solution. We are seeking to obtain a good used van, with an estimated cost of $7,000–$7,500, so that we can continue helping those who depend on this transportation to attend church and participate in the work of the Lord. We would deeply appreciate your prayers, and if the Lord places this need upon your heart, any assistance toward obtaining a reliable vehicle would be a great blessing and would help us continue serving families and the church.
