November, 2023
To all who labor together in the Lord,
We give thanks and trust that you find peace in the grace of the Lord, even in the midst of a chaotic international situation. Thanks to your prayers and sacrificial support, the ministry in East Africa continues to grow in His grace.
I. ICCC (Rwanda) Accreditation is now in its Final Stages of Approval
By grace, through continued prayers, only the final stage of cabinet approval remains. We request that you continue to join us in prayer to this end. As we pursue this process, we confess once again that God leads everything from the beginning to the end, and that we cannot do anything without the grace of the Lord. It is our fervent hope that approval will be granted soon, so that well-trained ministers of the Gospel will move to every corner of Africa, and even the world.
II. The Church at Bible College (Rwanda) is also Growing in Grace
A total of 33 people were baptized on November 12th. It was a touching time, when these 33 professed their faith in front of the congregation. They had completed the 6-week Shorter Catechism course and passed an interview. On Sunday the 19th, membership was given to another 52 people who already had completed the 6-week training course. Everyone was given a Bible as a gift. It was a great joy to have Dr. Jeffrey Khoo, from Singapore’s Far East Bible College, visit and share precious words of Scripture to the congregation. It is our prayer that those who completed the classes will continue to grow spiritually and continue to have a precious encounter with the Lord in the Word.
III. Thank God for the 52nd Graduation Ceremony of Bible College of East Africa
A total of 20 graduates completed the two-year (3 graduates), three-year (3 graduates), and four-year (14 graduates) courses, and are now equipped to go forward with the Gospel. We hope and pray that God will endow them with strength and accompany them as they commit themselves to Him. All who were present were blessed by a time of precious grace, as Dr. Jeffrey Khoo shared the formula Truth + Charity = Unity, from Ephesians 4:11-16. We thank Dr. Khoo for making the long journey from Singapore to give a word of exhortation to the graduates and attendees.
IV. Rev. Stephen Omweri of Masai Lenkizape Church Underwent Brain- Tumor Surgery
As we had written before, the brain tumor that was operated on 10 years ago recurred, so Rev. Omweri had surgery to remove the new tumor on November 24th. It was a very difficult surgery, but God answered our worries and prayers. Dr. Kiboi, who is recognized as the best Kenyan doctor in that field, successfully completed the surgery lasting eight hours. We give thanks and glory to God who has been with us through all procedures and processes. Please join us in prayer for a speedy recovery and return to ministry.
Yet another year has passed. We are deeply grateful to everyone who labored alongside us this year through prayer and support. We pray that God’s blessings will be with you during the upcoming Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. We hope that, in the new year, more fruit will come forth in ministry, to the glory of our Lord.
In the bond of Christ,
Kyung Soo (Mark) Kim and Hang Sook (Hannah) Rhee
