“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8
This same question and need remains today. The spiritual fields are ripe for harvest, but the laborers who will deliver the message of salvation are lacking. The Lord is calling courageous and faithful believers to fulfill the greatest task and mission of the Church: to go and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. Who will answer, “Here am I; send me?”
Along with greeting you in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, we thank each of you for your continued prayerful support. This report covers the period from July to September of this year. In addition to the regular activities (Bible study services, prayer services, a Saturday children’s club, a catechumens’ course, and study of the WCF), we would like to share the following with you.
1. Emergency trip to Santiago city. On July 3rd, Elizabeth’s father, Mr. Mariano Colpi Silva, passed away. It was a very difficult time, due to everything that the loss of a loved one entails, coupled with the distance. Despite this, we thank God for providing everything we needed. Elizabeth traveled on the last flight of the night and was able to be with her father and family before he passed away. God also allowed Daniel to travel and conduct the funeral service, both at the family home and at the cemetery. Despite the sadness of the process, we thank God for allowing us to be present, accompanying the family and, above all, having another opportunity to preach the gospel to all those who were there. We are grateful to the missionary society of Chile that sent a representative to the funeral with a beautiful floral arrangement, as well as representatives from the Genezaret Church of Puerto Montt and the National Board of MUPREF (Fundamentalist Presbyterian Women), whose company provided support and encouragement during this sad time. Also, of great importance, was the presence of dear brothers and sisters from the Smirna Church.
2. Congregational Bible Reading. We have only three months left to finish reading the entire Bible together with the brethren in one year. How much do you love the law of the Lord? How is your life of communion with your Savior going? We thank God for the wonderful blessing He has given us, as we advance together in reading and learning the Word of God. Not only is it read, but questions from each chapter are also sent to the brethren and young people from other congregations who have chosen to participate, so they can delve deeper into its teachings.
3. Winter Vacation Bible Club. From July15-19, we held our Children’s Bible Club. By the grace of God, we had 10 new children participate during this learning time (most continue to attend on Saturdays). The topic was: Jesus, the Son of God, Part 2, where we taught some of Jesus’ miracles that demonstrate His divinity: Jesus heals the paralytic, the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter, the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, and Jesus heals the ten lepers.
We had games, competitions, crafts, verse memorization, and delicious snacks prepared by members of the congregation. The average attendance was 15 children, and the enrollment was 23. God also gave great helpers from our brethren: Carolina Ojeda, Jonathan Sepúlveda, and Cecilia Crisóstomo.
The next VBC, God willing, that we will hold in February 2026, presents a significant challenge for us, as our home doesn’t have enough space to accommodate more children. We ask for your prayers so we can have a larger space for this activity.
4. Trip to Brazil. In August, we had the blessing of traveling to Brazil. It was a period that included time for rest, extensive travel, great fellowship , and work in the church (the main purpose of this trip). There, we reunited with dear friends, Pastor and Mrs. Guimarães, and their two sons.
We spent a week in the city of Patos, in the Brazilian “sertão” (rough region in the northeast). There, we were able to visit the Fundamentalist Presbyterian Churches (FPC) of Santa Terezinha, Água Branca, Tabira, São José do Egito, and the congregation at Sitio Cutia.
Daniel had the privilege of preaching about missions at the inaugural service for the second semester of seminary. On Sunday morning, he preached at the Youth SOS (an evangelistic activity organized by Presbyterian youth every weekend in August) on the theme “Saved by Grace” at the Patos IPF (Praise and Worship Service). On Sunday afternoon, he preached at the Sitio Carnaúba dos Pires congregation in São José do Bonfim.
During that week, we shared with the brethren of the Patos FPC. They welcomed us warmly and displayed a wonderful expression of brotherly love. Then in our visit to Recife, we participated in the inaugural service for the start of the IPF seminary at IPSEP. There, we met with the executive committee of the Recife Presbytery to discuss missionary work in the region.
Afterwards, we traveled to São Paulo to learn about the work in Limeira, a three-hour drive from São Paulo, where we shared with pastors David Carbone and Osmar Damasceno. There, Daniel preached during the Sunday morning and afternoon services.
The greatest challenge we faced was preaching in Portuguese, as it required much preparation and prayer, managing to expose the Word of the Lord in a way that was understandable to the listeners, only by the grace of the Lord.
While in Brazil, God used Pastor Andrés Durán, along with his wife Lucy Ramírez, and later Brother Felipe Rivas, to continue carrying out the work of the “Faro de Gracia” in our absence. The members of the congregation expressed their joy at having shared with them, receiving the teaching of the Word of the Lord, and enjoying Christian fellowship.
5. Celebrations on National Holidays. September is a month of many celebrations for our family. Our oldest son, Daniel Josías, turned 12 (Sept.15), and Joaquín turned 11 (Sept. 17). We also enjoyed the company of Elizabeth’s mother and Daniel’s parents and sister. Our children were very happy with this visit, in addition to celebrating their birthdays with the children from the club. We also celebrated our national holidays with the members of the congregation, having had a delicious and entertaining time with food and traditional games in Christian fellowship.
We thank God for the people who have participated in our meetings. In this church year (the period from August 2024 to July 2025), we have been able to preach the gospel in our services to nearly 80 attendees. We ask that you pray to the Lord that all who have heard His word may be saved and, God willing, may continue to participate with us.
The annual meeting of the National Presbytery will be held on October 11 and 12. We ask that you pray for the decisions made regarding the Lighthouse of Grace project and our continued missionary work in Punta Arenas, which is our desire as a family. We also ask that you continue praying for Daniel’s ministerial advancement, so that God may reveal His perfect will.
6. Please Pray…
- For the 10 new Bible Club children and their families.
- For the faithfulness of the 13 permanent children.
- That God will provide a larger space to continue carrying out the children’s ministries.
- For the health and salvation of Mrs. Delfa Ojeda and Fanny Pino, and unconverted relatives.
- For the four believers preparing to become members of the church.
- For Elizabeth’s responsibilities on the board of MUPREF Sur Austral, where she is secretary.
- For Mrs. Maruja’s family, so that she can continue attending with her children.
- For God to provide property for a church.
- For the validation exams for Daniel Josías (6th grade) and Joaquín (5th grade) in October.
- For Elizabeth’s seminary studies and Daniel’s Master’s in Theology studies.
We are happy for the work God allows us to do in this part of the world, in the “ends of the earth.” We ask for your prayers, so that God may continue to sustain and bless us.
In the love of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Matamala Colpi Family
