“Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.” Psalm 145:3

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings in the name of Jesus, our wonderful Lord and Savior, whom we honor and adore.

It is time to come to you again with a few updates; my, how fast the days are flying by. Winter is long gone and spring is in full swing with flowers blooming and trees bringing forth leaves. It is a great time of year. Only the weather has not done its part, as earlier we had had extremely cold and freezing temperatures that set new records this year.

My friend, the one who helped me with my book, kept telling me to exercise or walk to stay healthy. And I did some, but I was not doing it regularly enough. Then, when my hip began to hurt and feel uncomfortable, it was suggested that I try walking to help ease the pain, along with the pain medicine. So, I started walking slowly at first, for short distances, increasing the distance as I could; now walking daily. One route I go takes fifteen minutes and a second takes half an hour. After walking for over two months, at the end of February, I didn’t get my pain medicine prescription refilled. I went a week without it, and found that I was not hurting anymore. So, no more pain medicine! Yes, I am a bit stiff when I begin the walk, but feel okay when I finish. I am glad for that.

The boys are still in school, and all doing good. Little Jesse finds it hard to come in and do homework when the older boys had finished theirs at school or on the bus ride home. But he is learning, and one day he will not have any as he reaches the upper grades.

Recently I went to my heart doctor. After checking things, he said to come back in one year. Also, I had a visit to a second doctor who had me on oxygen nightly. He checked his records and said to come back in one year. I continue to go to my eye specialist every three months for injections to slow the damage to my eyes. It seems to be helping as at April’s appointment I was told that there is no need for an injection and to come back in two months. So far, I can still read, but do better with large print. I thank God for the help and strength He gives me each day.

When the washing machine quit working at the end of last November, we had to take laundry to a laundromat. Beth would take it once a week to wash and dry, then bring home to fold. I was thankful when two of my brothers got together and ordered a washing machine for us. It took a bit to get it here, but it’s installed and I am now caught up on the backlog of laundry and am happily doing laundry here again.

I see on the Praise and Prayer that I am short of some support, and would appreciate help to bring the monthly amount back up to what is needed. Friends, thank you for giving your support so faithfully each month, I greatly appreciate. So, may the Lord bless and richly reward you for it.

Sincerely, in Christ,
Joan Davenport
